Thoughts on Accessibility and the Importance of Global Accessibility Awareness Day

As I reflect on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) that was recognized yesterday, I felt compelled to share some thoughts about it and accessibility in general. Our commitment to providing accessible digital reading experiences through our Nxtbook Media digital publishing solutions is something we’ve prided ourselves on for more than 15 years now.
For those not familiar with GAAD, it is recognized on the Third Thursday of each May. GAAD is an important day for everyone to be aware of because it promotes the idea that digital technology and the web should be accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. The day aims to raise awareness and encourage people to think about how they can make their digital content and services more accessible to all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
As more and more of our daily lives are conducted online, it is essential that we ensure equal access to digital technology for all people. GAAD provides an opportunity to increase awareness and understanding of digital accessibility issues and encourages individuals, organizations, and governments to take action to make digital content more inclusive and accessible.
By participating in GAAD, we can all play a role in creating a more equitable and inclusive society, where everyone has equal access to digital resources and technology. It’s essential to recognize the importance of this day and to take action to create a more accessible and inclusive digital world for everyone.
