Android App Privacy Policy

Thank you for using a native Nxtbook LLC app. Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used by Nxtbook and its publishers.

Android App Permissions

Our apps, for the sake of allowing full functionality of the publications found within require certain permissions. Below is an explination of each sensitive permission and how it is used by the app. Nxtbook Media does not collect, use, or share any personal information that could be obtained by allowing these permissions for any purposes whatsoever, nor sell it to third parties.

Read Phone State, Call Phone, Send SMS

Phone and sms permissions are used to allow clicking on phone number formatted links in the Nxtbook, and open the phone application on your device. It is not used for any other purpose, and can not be initiated without user action.

Internet

Internet permission is used to display websites within the application, when a link is clicked from within a Nxtbook, and to download information necessary to display the Nxtbooks.

Write External Storage

The storage permission is used to allow the downloading and caching of Nxtbooks for offline reading. No data is read by the app except the data that it has created itself for book reading purposes.

Access WiFi State

WiFi permission is used to detect whether the device is connected via wifi, to allow wifi-only book downloading if the user wishes.

User Authentication

Not all Nxtbook apps require authentication. If the application does ask for personal information, such as an email address, it will be in the context of signing into the app to view publications that you have subscribed to via other means. In this context, your email address is often your username, and will be information you have already provided to the publisher for authentication. This information is not used by Nxtbook in any way other than to authenticate a user and verify access rights to publisher material. If you have concerns, please contact the publisher for information on how your personal information is used.

Collection Security: Nxtbook aims to safe guard your contact information to the fullest extent possible. That said, we have multiple layers of protection for publishers who hold reader contact info on our servers. If for any reason we find that this contact information has been compromised, we will let all effected parties know so that action can be taken, if necessary.

Analytics Data

The app does collect analytic usage data on the behalf of publishers, and their advertisers and sponsors, which then can be used at their discretion to market to you or possibly be sold to other parties.
