Promoting the Highest Standards in Digital Editions

One of the hidden benefits of being in this line of work is that at Nxtbook Media, we get to meet clients wherever they are and help them tackle branding and content concerns. Each client has a different need, and we get to flex our creativity to meet them.
The New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYS FDA), for example, came to us with a very specific need, and our Creative Services team rose to the occasion. The project manager, Jacob Keeler, gave the following breakdown of the project:
The NYS FDA exists to “enhance the environment in which our members operate and to promote the highest standards of funeral service to the public.” While they had been using their in-house designer to layout their monthly print newsletter, they wanted to create a more engaging and innovative reading experience for their association members that corresponded with an in-house rebranding effort.
Nxtbook Media worked with the client to build out a fully-optimized, landscape-oriented layout with large clean images, embedded videos, interactive animations and simple surveys. The layout was unique in the fact that it was technically a one-page landscape, but the split of the editorial into two columns gave the publication a more standard print look. This “hybrid” layout was a request of the client to provide users with a great digital reading experience, without being too foreign to them. After the project was closed, the InDesign files were provided to the client so that their in-house designer could continue to layout the piece.
