Is My Digital Edition Search Engine Friendly?
August 15, 2012 by Joy Curtis
"Is my digital magazine SEO friendly? Is my digital edition indexed by Google?"
Sometimes we are asked about search engines and integration in our digital editions. For instance, publishers (rightly) want to know if Google and Bing can "find" their content online. The answer is yes, they can. An XML file runs behind your digital edition which search engines can find and read. (Learn more on our site.)
Need an example? Well, it’s getting about closing time at our headquarters in Lancaster, and I’m getting a bit hungry, so I’m going to pop on google and search something to make for dinner. And hey, Betty Crocker seems to know what she’s doing, so I’ll search "Betty Crocker Soups and Chilis." 6 options from the top is a digital cookbook they made with us way back when and still use to this day. (Yet another advantage to going digital: you don’t have to reprint and re-mail issues.)
