Advancing Creative Services Options

August 15, 2012 by

You might be one of the thousands of publishers who recognize Nxtbook Media as offering digital publishing solutions. Well, that’s true. But what you might not realize is we have an ever-growing, ever-developing Creative Services team which provides a multitude of solutions from clients to help them expand in the digital realm. For instance we’ve created everything from microsites to social media campaigns to tracking consumer behavior programs to custom development solutions.

As part of that growth, Nxtbook Media is proud to welcome the newest member of our team, Scott Charney. While we’re still getting his personal bio information on our website, we took a moment to ask him a few questions:

Q: As you know, Nxtbook Media is considered a "flat" company, and employees are encouraged to choose their own titles. Why did you choose the "Duke of Solutions"?

A: I think it describes the passion for what I do and the fun I have in the process. I’ve always prided myself on being a solutions kind of guy. I ask a lot of questions to fully understand my clients’ underlying needs and can then begin to address the challenges they face. As for choosing Duke, you gotta start somewhere, and being King is way too pretentious. I think it was Robert Browning who stated: ‘Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a Heaven for?’

Q: Why did you choose to work for Nxtbook Media?

A: Extremely talented team, great leadership, community focused, great company culture, crazy fun people, progressive… how much time do you have?

Q: What product were you surprised to find that we offer?

A: The capability to develop and monitor the business-customer relationship as it progresses. What business wouldn’t want to know how their customers expect to be treated in order to build a stronger relationship with them?

Q: You’re a pretty high-energy, big-ideas guy. How do you maintain that level of zeal?

A: I get my energy from being around people and ideas. Additionally, I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising, eating right, and maintaining an incurable level of curiosity.

Q: Do you have a motto?

A: "Action cures fear!" Nike stole this concept from me and turned it into the "Just Do It" campaign, making a zillion dollars in the process. I could have used that coin…

Q: If someone wants to grab a beer with you, where would you take them?

A: Truth be told, it would be a Cranapple Margarita created in my kitchen – which is pretty funky – then to my backyard campfire for "chillin" out.

Keep watching the company page for more information about Scott, or give him a call at extension 148 to say hello!
