It’s Funny How the Web Works
June 6, 2012 by Marcus Grimm
So this week I got hooked up with Hugh MacLeod on LinkedIn, who’s known for his brilliant artwork on the backs of business cards. I realized I hadn’t perused Hugh’s blog in a while and while doing so, I came across this dynamite art he did including this quote from Clay Shirky: "Publishing isn’t a job anymore. It’s a button." And I said to myself, "That quote’s probably part of an essay I should read."
I was half right. It was part of an incredible interview with Shirky and anyone who works in publishing should read it, if you haven’t. There are a lot of brilliant points here about how the publishing world is changing, some of which I hadn’t considered, certainly not to the depth Shirky has. Don’t miss it.
