Five Ways the iPad Will Change Magazine Design

The headline of this post was liberated from an awesome essay that offers some really intelligent insight into how magazines may do things differently on the iPad, including forcing us to rethink the concepts of issues, advertising and more. Well worth the read.

If there’s anything to quibble about, it’s that the headline may be a bit too optimistic. The iPad, after all, is just a thing. It doesn’t really do anything. To do the things the author suggests, magazine designers will need to embrace the possibilities that exist on the iPad and other devices like it and create different types of content which now have the potentially to be shown differently. The fact that they now can makes it a very exciting device, indeed.
