What the Media Says About Digital Editions

May 2, 2007 by

Here’s a link to FOLIO’s latest article on digital editions. Matt Kinsman did a nice job on this one and we think he really did a good job covering the current state of the industry.

We’re really proud of how the media has “kept up” with the vendors in the past year. PubExec also ran a really great article a few months ago, too.

If we had to be picky – and loyal readers know we are – I’d wonder about the “home grown”  solution mentioned in the Kinsman article. The product has about 20% of the features of other digital editions and – according to figures mentioned in the article – is costing the publisher far more in development than he’d ever pay to work with  us or  our competitors, which doesn’t seem like it makes a ton of business sense.

But still, if you’re thinking of doing a digital edition – start by reading these two feature articles. You’ll find a wealth of information there.
