Travesty of Progress?

February 7, 2007 by Marcus Grimm

The world’s oldest newspaper has gone from a print format to a digital format, prompting a former editor to say:

“We think it’s a cultural disaster.”

However, the content – 1500 legal announcements by corporations, courts and certain government agencies per day – and the audience – less than 1,000 – make one wonder how it took them so long to come to this conclusion.

if you visit the website, you can see they’ve done the publication with all stories in html, as well as a PDF version. So now people can search for info. during those times when they don’t have time to read through 1500 announcements.

Sometimes, digital is better.
