Is it a Press Release or a Manifesto?

Last week we were putting together our year-end results for ’06 and realized that we were caught in a bit of a conundrum. While many in the magazine industry wonder if the digital edition format isn’t working, we continue to see dramatic growths in readership and revenue. For us, revenue was up 254% from ’06 to ’05 and if that causes the cynics to think we’re good at selling a product that people don’t want, readership was up 359% over the same period.
So when we put together the press release, we did it with lots of quotes – quotes that both acknowledge what we’ve heard in the industry, but also quotes that explore why we think that we’ve got a pretty good thing going here. You can view the entire press release here.
